Nothing is small about small business
Learning Stream is fortunate to have some of the biggest companies in the world among users of our registration management system. But Learning Stream is also blessed with a lot of customers who fit squarely within the demographic of small business. We’re thinking a lot about those customers, especially this week, because the Small Business Administration designated this National Small Business Week in the U.S.
Chances are you run or work for a small business. Companies with fewer than 100 employees make up more than 98% of the U.S. work force. And operations with fewer than 20 employees make up 89% of the total work force. That makes small business a huge piston in the country’s economic engine, representing nearly half the GDP.
Many types of training
Learning Stream identifies as a small business, too. So, we have a great deal of empathy and love for companies that produce a lot with a small work force. In many cases, the sole reason for their existence is offering professional continuing education. Here’s a small sampling of the types of training and other services our small business customers deliver:
-
- Building/construction code updates
- Physical therapy continuing education
- Safety and security such as OSHA standards
- Software
- Event and meeting management
- Motorcycle safety
- Pet training
- First aid and basic life support
- Fire safety and prevention
- Childcare and other social services education
Innovation
Small businesses everywhere are a source of innovation. They incubate new concepts in education and training that may be adopted later by their much larger counterparts. Small businesses also offer input that helps Learning Stream become an even better, more efficient system for managing the registration and continuing education process.
If you’re a small business entrepreneur, we salute you. If you’re interested in learning more about Learning Stream’s class and training registration management tools, we salute you for that as well. Just use this handy form to reach out.
